Gandhinagar (The Hawk): The BJP began its "Agresar Gujarat" (leading Gujarat) campaign on Saturday in an effort to connect with the state's residents and solicit their input on issues to be included in the party's platform for the state assembly elections.
Gujarat residents can express their opinions by leaving notes in suggestion boxes that will be displayed in public locations, sending text messages to 7878182182, visiting www.agresargujarat.com, or posting comments on the website.
The saffron party has accepted veteran leader Jay Narayan Vyas' resignation, according to BJP state unit president C R Patil.
Vyas, 75, left the party on Friday, citing his dissatisfaction with the way the Patan district BJP committee operated and its repeated humiliation.
Patil reminded the media that the BJP will not nominate candidates who are 75 years of age or older. Additionally, it won't put forward any relatives of BJP MPs, MLAs, or leaders.
Another event involved a one-on-one meeting earlier in the day between Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and trustees Naresh Patel and Ramesh Tilawala of the Khodal Dham.
Ramesh Tilawala is considering running for office in the Rajkot South Constituency under the BJP banner.
Himanshu Vyas, the national secretary of the Congress party, has left the organisation and is most likely to join the BJP. He alleges that the party consistently disregarded his contributions and service to the party.Â
